The mission of Newton International
college is to provide students with the
knowledge and skills to be successful in
their personal, social and professional
lives. In support of this mission, the
College maintains the philosophy that all
individuals have inherent worth and dignity
and thus it offers the educational
opportunities to all who can profit from
them. This is accomplice in an educational
and cultural environment designed to meet
each and every student’s special needs.
BACKGROUND
Newton International college is
approved for education and instruction by
the State of California and is authorized
under Federal Law to enroll international
students. Our professors and administrators
are members of NAFSA (the National
Association of Foreign Student Advisors) and
TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of
Other Languages) to help our international
students to achieve their academic and
career goals. At Newton International
College, we offer academic and career
opportunities for all students. We provide
intensive English
language training and TOEFL
preparation. In addition, we offer job
training in Office Computer Applications and
Dental Laboratory Technology.
All of these
programs can lead to exciting career
opportunities. Our excellent faculty also
provides counseling and guidance for the
students as they work toward their career
and academic objectives.
FACILITIES
Newton International College is
conveniently located in three cities, which
are Garden Grove (main campus, in
California, 30 miles south of Los Angeles),
Los Angeles (downtown) and
Irvine(15 miles
south of Garden Grove). It is within easy
access to major freeways, airports, and bus
routes. The college facilities include a
modern Language Laboratory, comfortable
Lecture Rooms, and an expansive Computer
Laboratory. There is a large parking lot
adjacent to the building complex. A typical
class size for any program is between ten
and fifteen students.
The Language
Laboratory is equipped with sophisticated
audio cassette systems and is open to all
enrolled students during regular school
hours.
The Computer Laboratory
contains
state-of the art computers with numerous
software programs.
The Dental Laboratory
is an actual working lab which provides
services to dentists and serves as a
training facility for our students. The
lecture rooms are arranged in a way that is
conducive to active learning and academic
excellence. Newton International College and
its facilities fully comply with all
Federal, State, and Local Laws, Regulations,
and Ordinances, including those pertaining
to fire, safety, and health. Current books,
magazines, periodicals, manuals, and
catalogs are maintained for students to
investigate various academic interests.
FACULTY
All Newton International College
instructors hold advanced degrees in
English, linguistics or related fields, and
have broad experience in teaching English to
speakers of other languages. They are
committed to providing quality English
instruction in a friendly, stimulating
atmosphere.
STUDENT SERVICES
Student advisors can acquaint students
with recreational, cultural, social and
academic opportunities. In addition, they
provide information regarding visa
regulations, housing, transportation needs,
admission to universities or other
institutions of higher learning.
VISA INFORMATION
Newton International College is
authorized under Federal Law to issue SEVIS
I-20 forms (Certificate of Student
Eligibility) for international students, so
they may obtain a student visa (F-1) from
the American Embassy or Consulate. Students
transferring to Newton International College
from other U.S. schools must obtain a letter
from their last school verifying that they
attended the school full-time until the date
of transfer. Students holding a tourist visa
(B-1 or B-2) may study at Newton
International College only for the duration
of the visa. If a longer stay is needed to
complete the program, any visa extension or
change of status must be authorized by the
U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Applicants to Newton International College
should be at least 18 years of age or a high
school graduate.
